On the 21st, Apple started providing the official update version of iOS 15.
Developers can download the ▲iOS 15 ▲ iPadOS 15 RC version from the Apple developer website. The update also offers OTA downloads for iPhones, iPads and iPod touches running iOS 15 beta.
The contents of the iOS update are as follows.
The new SharePlay
The SharePlay feature lets you watch TV shows or movies, listen to music, and share your screen with your friends while making FaceTime video calls. It’s a whole new way to have fun with friends and family from far away.
During a FaceTime call, you can stream a movie or TV show with the other party. Even the playback and control of the video is synchronized, so you can see in real time how your friends and family laugh, amaze, and admire you while watching the same scene. In addition, the volume of the video being played is automatically adjusted so that you can have a conversation with each other comfortably while watching the video.
Let’s get together with friends and enjoy music together. Everyone in the group call can see which song will play next. What’s more, playback and easy-to-operate controls are also synchronized, so anyone can add their favorite songs to the shared music queue.
share the same screen
You can share your screen with anyone in a FaceTime call. You can also go face-to-face and review apartment sites you are considering moving, swipe through photo albums to chat, or pass on your know-how to your friends.
Inspired by the ‘Portrait Mode’ feature of the ‘Camera’ app, this new video effect focuses on you, not the background.
‘Voice Isolation’ mode minimizes background noise during calls so your voice can be heard most clearly. If the music or sound you hear around you is just as important as your voice, ‘Wide Spectrum’ mode lets you hear the sounds around you unfiltered.
Messages and Memoji
Links, images, and a variety of other content shared through the Messages app now appear in the new ‘Shared with me’ section in the app that powers that content. You can even reply to messages directly from the app you were enjoying the content without, without having to go back to the Messages app.
You can now choose clothes for your Memoji. You can also show off your personality with the newly prepared stickers. You can express your style with colorful headwear, and add artificial ears, oxygen tubes and soft helmets to the easy-to-use customization options.
When you share multiple photos in Messages, they now appear overlaid in collage or in stacks that you can swipe through. To view your photos in a grid format or to quickly add a Tapback, just tap a photo. Saving your favorite photos to your ‘Library’ is just a few taps away.
Select Concentration Mode
‘Concentration Mode’ helps you stay focused on the situation, even when you need to concentrate or when you need a break. You can choose from among the focused modes you want to use, or you can create your own focus mode. This allows you to focus on your work in a trance, or enjoy a leisurely dinner without distractions.
Display current status
When everyone knows you’re busy, it’s easier to create an environment where you can focus on what you’re doing right now, away from contact. While in Focus Mode, your status is automatically displayed in Messages and other communication apps that you allow to use. Of course, there are plans in place in case you have a message that needs to be delivered really urgently.
Meet the revamped notifications. Notifications are easier to recognize because they display photos from your contacts, larger app icons, and more.
Based on your schedule, you can quickly check the schedule for the day with a collection of useful reminders provided every day. The summary is cleverly sorted by priority so that the most important items for the day are at the top of the list.
New major cities in the world
Explore the streets, residential districts, trees, buildings, and other aspects of the city in unprecedented detail. See sights like San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge in stunning 3D on both light mode and dark mode maps.
New driving-related features
The Maps app now displays road information for drivers in amazing detail. A driver-only map has been newly prepared that provides real-time accident status and traffic information at a glance.
bottom tab bar
The tab bar has been moved to the bottom of the screen, making it easier to control tabs with your fingers. Swipe the address bar left or right to switch tabs, or swipe up to see all currently open tabs at a glance.
You can store and organize your tabs in the way that works best for you, and switch between tabs with ease. Tab groups sync across all of your devices, so you can open pre-organized tabs on any device.
Live text in Photos app
‘Live Text’ intelligently discovers many useful information contained in images. Depending on the type of text highlighted in the photo, you can make a call, send an email, or get directions with a single tap.
Live text in camera app
Live text function is also supported in the ‘Camera’ app. Point your iPhone camera at text and use the useful information you need to quickly take the action you need on the spot.
Live text translation
The Live Text feature understands seven languages: English, Chinese, French, Italian, German, Portuguese and Spanish. And thanks to the system-wide translation capabilities, you can easily translate text with just one tap.
Memories made interactive with a new design
The ‘Memories’ section has a new interactive, immersive interface. In addition, thanks to the newly introduced Memories Mix function, you can choose the music and mood that suits your story to create memories with your own taste.
The newly updated Health app gives you more ways to share data with the people closest to you, indicators to help you detect fall risk in advance, and health trend analysis to help you keep track of changes in your health. It helps you to be aware.
You can customize the display and text size separately for each app. You can also apply features you want only to the apps you want, such as applying bold or larger text, increasing color contrast, inverting colors, and more. With VoiceOver, you can learn more about people, objects, text, tables, and more in images, and navigate through values on recipes and food nutrition labels in logical order. You can also move your finger over the photo to locate a person based on the location of objects in the photo.
The Weather app has been refreshed with graphical weather data, beautiful redesigned background animations, precipitation, air quality and temperature maps and more. The weather app is more beautiful and powerful than ever.
An updated productivity feature in the Notes app lets you organize notes with tags, and collaborate using new ways to mention and ‘view activity’.
Translate selected text with system-wide translation capabilities. Even various third-party apps support this feature. The ‘Translate’ app’s ‘Auto-translate’ and ‘Face-to-face’ functions enable more natural conversations, making it easier to continue conversations even in different languages.
Forgot your account password? The ‘Account Recovery Contacts’ feature makes it easier than ever to reset passwords and regain access to your accounts, through the users you designate. And the new ‘Digital Heritage’ program lets you designate people you choose as ‘inherited contacts’ so they can access your account when you die.8
