The company of purification of residual waters of the region of A Coruña, Bens WWTP, will file an administrative dispute against the City of Cambre, according to the Council of Oleiros. This City Council accuses Cambre of not paying the debugging fees, VAT, which correspond to it, although it is charged to the neighbors. Cambre responds that it neither collects this tax nor pays it to the WWTP because according to the financial controller and the General Secretariat of the City Council it would be illegal to do so. They indicate that the VAT of a public company cannot be passed on to citizens.
The mayor of Oleiros, Ángel García Seoane, stresses that each municipality that treats its wastewater at the Bens WWTP has to pay a proportional part to guarantee this benefit.
Cambre points out that he is not willing to contravene the law, which establishes that this rate cannot be charged to the residents nor, therefore, paid to the company that performs the water treatment. The mayor of this municipality, Óscar García Patiño, values the terms in which he will respond to the accusations of his counterpart in Oleiros Because, he understands, that he is violating the general interests of Cambre.
