Actress Anne Heche was stuck in her burning vehicle for 45 minutes on August 5 after her Mini Cooper hit a residence in Los Angeles, California.

Arriving at the scene of the tragedy around 11:01 a.m. that morning, firefighters realized that a person was trapped in the burning vehicle, believing it to be the owner of the house, Lynne Mishele. At 11:18 a.m., authorities believed there was no one else in the car. It was only around 11:25 a.m. that they saw Anne Heche through the smoke. She was then on the floor of the car and it was difficult to reach. It was only around 11:49 a.m. that they managed to extricate the actress from the cabin, and she was still alive.
