In connection with the merger with Discovery+, which will not happen in Norway until 2024, HBO Max has started deleting content from the platform to save money.
Removes content, serves annual offer in the US until October
At the same time, they have cut the price of the annual subscription in the USA by 30 per cent, and offer one year prepaid in Norway for NOK 699, which is 34 per cent cheaper than paying every month for 12 months.
The two services will, among other things, combine content from HBO, CNN, DC Comics, Discovery Channel, Food Network, HGTV, Magnolia Network, OWN, TBS and TNT.
This is stated by HBO Max
The merger will take place already next year in the US, and now HBO has started to remove content: as many as 36 titles are disappearing from the streaming platform.
“Now that we are working on bringing together our content catalogs under one platform, we will be making changes to the content offering available on both HBO Max and Discovery+. This will include the removal of some content from both platforms,” said a statement from HBO Max.
A number of Warner Brothers films are now being weeded out, including:
- The Witches
- An American Pickle
- Locked Down
- Charm City Kings
Of HBO content disappearing:
- Mrs. Fletcher
- Infinity Train
- 12 Dates of Christmas
- The Not-Too-Late Show with Elmo
