Valence-d'Agen. Federal Final 1: Hyères-Rennes at the E.-Baylet stadium

It will be hot, very hot this afternoon for the final of the French championship of Fédérale 1, which will oppose the clubs of Rennes and Hyères-Carqueirane. The two finalists have won the right to go directly to National 1 without going through the National 2 box. The only stake in this meeting will therefore be the title of champion of France, with the shield which consecrates it.

For the Rennais, finding themselves there is unexpected, they who finished in 4th place in their pool, but they managed the feat. Now, all that's missing is the title, and among the Bretons we strongly believe in it. At the other end of France, for the XV of Hyères, being there is not a surprise: throughout the season, they have dominated their group run head and shoulders and finished first at the level national.

Are the Varois favorites for all that? They can be, but a final remains a final with its share of uncertainties. Whoever adapts best to the heat will have a small advantage and as often, it is the bench that will make the difference. One thing is certain, the show should be there with excessive gambling.

As for the organizers of the Avenir valencien, who had less than a week to prepare everything, we are still working to get everything ready, there is no question of missing this beautiful meeting. We are waiting for the crowds of the big days, many Bretons are moving, several buses will land on the road of the Charretiers.

But such a poster will attract all rugby fans in the area. It will be wise to arrive early, but there will be no curtain raising. The refreshments will be taken by storm, it will be prudent for the spectators who will not have taken place in the tribune to provide a parasol or a hat.

On familiar ground

There are in any case three in the two teams to know the E. Baylet stadium well: in Rennes, the back lines coach Vincent Brehonnet, who operated in the 2000s; third row Cory Whakatihi who was there last season; and in Hyères, "Dédé" Gorin (Gorcioaia), who can't wait to be in Valence where he has many friends. The compositions of the two teams, alas, have not been communicated to us.

On the organizational side, Avenir valencien membership cards do not give access to the stadium and all licensees must pay the entrance fee. Price: €15. Students and people with reduced mobility, on presentation of their card: €6.

Free: under 16, on presentation of an identity document.
