Manchester United and Real Madrid have reached an agreement on the transfer of Casemiro. The 30-year-old Brazilian midfielder, who won the Champions League five times with Real, is reportedly coming to England for 70 million euros.
If Casemiro is also personally settled with coach Erik ten Hag's United and has been approved, there is a contract for him for four or five years. The 63-time international will earn around 16 million euros per season.
Casemiro is the fourth acquisition of Ten Hag after Tyrell Malacia (Feyenoord), Christian Eriksen (Brentford) and Lisandro Martínez (Ajax). Frenkie de Jong was the desired reinforcement for a long time, but the FC Barcelona midfielder was not tempted by the call from Manchester.
United continue to look for reinforcements. Ten Hag's team lost 4-0 at Brentford last Saturday and is still scoreless in the Premier League after two match days. Liverpool will visit Old Trafford on Monday.
Antony of Gakpo?
Ajax player Antony is high on Ten Hag's wish list. Ajax would have refused an offer of 80 million euros for the Brazilian attacker, but the English are not giving up yet. PSV player Cody Gakpo is mentioned as a possible alternative for Antony.
