A park in Madrid wakes up with 53,000 flags in memory of the victims of Covid

The Roma Park in Madrid has dawned this Sunday with 53,000 flags of Spain on the lawn in memory of the victims of the Covid. The action has been carried out by the National Association of Victims and People Affected by Coronavirus.

The Association has placed in this park in the Retiro district a flag for each person who has died from coronavirus in Spain since the start of the pandemic. In total they have placed 53,000 flags, although the official figure places the deceased at 31,232.

The images of the tribute have been celebrated by users on social networks, who have shared videos of how the park is on this Sunday morning.

This tribute comes in a complicated week for the region, when the Ministry of Health has asked the Community to take stricter measures to stop the advance of the pandemic.
