Alex Avila to retire from Major League Baseball

Washington Nationals wide receiver Alex Avila will retire from the majors at the end of the 2021 season, The Athletic reported.

Avila, according to the report, hopes to begin his career as a coach or in the offices of a baseball management after a career of 13 seasons, in which he wore the uniforms of the Detroit Tigers, Chicago White Sox, Arizona Bells, Twins Minnesota, Chicago Cubs and Nationals.

The 34-year-old mask has a .233 average, 105 home runs and 395 RBIs in his career in the majors.
