Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri was caught on camera annoyed with his players. This happened after the Bianconeri were held to a draw by AC Milan in the Italian League.
Playing in Turin, Monday (20/9) early morning WIB, Juventus threw away the advantage in the first half through Alvaro Morata. Milan finally managed to come home with one point after Ante Rebic’s header successfully broke into Wojciech Szczesny’s goal.
This draw means Juventus have not won a single Serie A game this season. Paulo Dybala et al only bagged two points from two draws and two defeats, and are now in the relegation zone by placing 18th in the standings.
After the match, Allegri was caught on camera leaving the pitch annoyed, and the video is now circulating on social media. Quoting the Daily Mail and Italian Football, the 54-year-old coach uttered a sentence in a harsh tone, which if translated subtly reads, “Oh my gosh, you guys are Juventus players!”
Allegri admits he made the wrong substitution. He was grateful that the match ended in a draw, because according to him, Juventus could have lost if they saw the revival of Milan at the end of the second half.
“I admit I made the wrong substitution. I was wrong, I should have put in a defender and locked the 1-0 advantage. I am responsible for that,” said Allegri after the game.
“If you don’t realize you have to put all your personal issues aside, play as a full-back even though you are a striker, then you will not come home with a draw. Now what we remember is that we threw away two points.”
“Fortunately the referee blew the long whistle, otherwise we could have lost. Tonight I am really angry. We played well in the first half, only conceded once by Milan with a long-range shot.”
“In the end, we almost lost even though we controlled the game until they equalized. Unfortunately we lost focus and determination … we have to improve if we want to move forward,” said Allegri.
Allegri has just had his second spell at Juventus. However, unlike the first period in 2014-2019, currently Juventus is not reinforced by Cristiano Ronaldo, and is focused on buying young players in the transfer market.
