The American driver Colton Herta won this Sunday the Monterey (California) Grand Prix, the fifteenth and penultimate round of the IndyCar category, ahead of the Spanish Alex Palou, leader of the general classification, and the French Romain Grosjean.

Despite running out of the trophy at the Laguna Seca circuit, Palou has once again taken a step towards the IndyCar championship title, which he could confirm in the season-ending race scheduled for next Sunday in Long Beach.

Spanish is now 35 points ahead of Mexican Pat O’Ward and 48 above the American Josef Newgarden in the general classification.

As for Colton Herta, son of former driver Bryan Herta, this was his fifth IndyCar victory.

On the French side, Romain Grosjean, third time on the podium this year, he’s on his way to finishing as the best rookie of this 2021 season.
