Vincent had never won a medal over this distance at this event.

Her teammate and C2 partner Laurence Vincent-Lapointe had won six of the last eight titles.

Vincent broke through with a time of 46.52 seconds, beating Spain’s Antia Jacome (46.79) and Pole Dorota Borowska (46.90).

“There has been so much hard work over the last few years to get there,” said the Mississauga athlete. I can’t wait to see what happens next.

“I really feel like this is a start for me. I’m really looking forward to the World Championships next year at home. “

Vincent resides in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, and the next edition of these Worlds will be held in Halifax, August 3-7, 2022.
