French police have arrested a man believed to be a Russian citizen on suspicion of injuring four people when he opened fire in central Paris, BFMTV reported.
The channel quoted a source close to the investigation as saying that a Russian citizen, born in 1988, was arrested on suspicion of firing a pneumatic weapon at a number of pedestrians on the Champs Elysees this week, injuring four of them.
The source added that the suspect was arrested after the police received a report from a witness of the accident.
The head of the information office at the Russian diplomatic mission, Alexander Makgonov, said that the latter is investigating media reports that a person described as a Russian citizen has been arrested.
