Beijing, Sep 20 (EFE) .- The National Health Commission of China announced today the detection of 49 new positives of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus this Sunday, of which 28 were produced by local contagion in the southeastern province of Fujian, scene of a small regrowth in recent weeks.
The remaining 21 cases were diagnosed in travelers from outside the borders of mainland China in the municipality of Shanghai (east, 4) and in the provinces of Yunnan (south, 9), Zhejiang (east, 2), Guangxi (south, 2), Sichuan (center, 2), Fujian (southeast, 1), and Shandong (east, 1).
The figure remains in line with recent days: 66 new cases were announced this Sunday, up from 46 on Saturday.
The health authorities also reported today the detection of 13 new asymptomatic infections (all “imported”, except one, in the southern province of Yunnan), although Beijing does not count them as confirmed cases unless they manifest symptoms.
The total of this type of infections under observation is 354, of which 345 come from other territories.
Likewise, the National Health Commission detailed that, until last local midnight (16:00 GMT on Sunday), 34 patients were discharged after successfully overcoming the covid, while one entered a serious state.
Thus, the total number of active infected in mainland China stood at 942, 10 of which are serious.
According to the institution’s accounts, 95,738 people have been infected in the country since the beginning of the pandemic, among which 90,160 have managed to heal and 4,636 died.
To date, 1,180,253 close contacts with infected people have been followed up, of which 15,730 remain under observation. EFE
