French fashion designer Thierry Mugler (73) unexpectedly passed away | Abroad

“It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mr Manfred Thierry Mugler (…). May his soul rest in peace,” it read in a statement on the designer’s social media channels.

According to Rougeot, Thierry Mugler’s death was unexpected. The great couturier still had plans and would announce new collaborations early this week, he said.

Thierry Mugler was born in Strasbourg in December 1948. He moved to Paris at the age of twenty and created his own label ‘Café de Paris’ in 1973. A year later he founded the fashion house ‘Thierry Mugler’. His structured and refined silhouettes quickly became an established name. He also launched his own perfume line. His influence was especially great on the fashion of the eighties.
