Dollar to hryvnia: forecast
Last week, the dollar against the hryvnia rose slightly in all segments of the foreign exchange market by 0.2-0.4 percent.
The hryvnia dollar rate will rise slightly over the next week – up to 28.5 hryvnia, said senior analyst at Alpari Vadim Iosub in a comment for RBC-Ukraine on October 18.
“The partial recovery of the hryvnia, which was observed the week before last, was replaced by its decline last week. This trend is likely to continue in the short term, and the dollar has every chance of renewing the local maximums set in early October,” the expert said.
He noted that last week the dollar against the hryvnia slightly increased in all segments of the foreign exchange market by 0.2-0.4 percent.
Average purchase / sale rates of cash dollars in banks increased over the week from 28.13 / 28.35 to 28.26 / 28.45 (+0.4 percent). At the same time, the spread between the average sale and the average purchase decreased from 0.8 percent to 0.7 percent.
As a reminder, the IMF has calculated the real exchange rate of the hryvnia and came to the conclusion that in terms of purchasing power parity, the hryvnia exchange rate is four times higher than the nominal one.
Earlier, the World Bank said that the pandemic made Ukraine stronger.
