It’s the question on the minds of Celtic fans and, as it turns out, players too.
It is, of course, the future of Portuguese winger Jota and whether he will commit to making his loan from Benfica a permanent move.
The Scottish Premiership champions have a £6million option to buy, which they are ready to activate, but the final decision will ultimately rest with the player.
Jota produced another star turn on trophy day as he helped himself to a brace in the 6-0 demolition of Motherwell.
After collecting the league trophy, the customary family affair took over as Ange Postecoglou ‘s players welcomed their nearest and dearest on to the Celtic Park pitch.
That presented an opportunity for Josip Juranovic to turn transfer negotiator when meeting what appeared to be Jota’s parents.
The Croatian full-back was captured on camera as he seemingly gestured in hope that their son would stay put for next season.
Unfortunately for Celtic fans, neither Jota’s mother nor father appeared to be giving even the slightest hint in response to Juranovic’s plea.
The matter should be resolved sooner rather than later, however, with Postecoglou revealing on Sunday that discussions are approaching an cut-off date.
He said: “I wouldn’t expect it to drag on for too long. There is an end date for these things and hopefully it’s a conclusion that we are all happy with.”
