Kovid booster dose for people over 65 and those with serious health problems US News | NRI

WASHINGTON ∙ The Federal Advisory Panel has dealt a heavy blow to the Biden administration’s decision to give the Kovid vaccine a booster dose. Biden had promised a month ago that he would start giving booster doses from next week.

The majority of the advisory panel decided that the booster dose should no longer be given to everyone in the United States, and that only those over the age of 65 and those with serious health problems should be given the Pfizer Covid 19 booster dose.

The majority decision is made by a committee consisting of outside health experts who advise the Food and Drug Administration. Of the 16 people who voted against the decision to give everyone a booster dose, only two voted in favor.

It was later agreed that the Kovid booster should be given only to those with health problems. Pfizer welcomed the committee’s decision.
