Mantis, the project for the dissemination and creation of Hispanic American literature written by women, begins its first year as an independent publisher, after having operated as a collection of Plural Editores for four years, with the announcement of three new titles that will be published in the coming months of 2022.

The narrator, poet, teacher and one of the three editors of Mantis (along with Giovanna Rivero and Magela Baudoin) Mariana Ríos gave this medium a preview of the novelties to be published this season. The first title to see the light would be “Mugre rosa”, by Uruguayan writer Fernanda Trias, winner last year of the Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz International Novel Prize, awarded since 1993 by the Guadalajara International Book Fair.

Later, the Chilean author Yosa Vidal will be published, with a title yet to be confirmed, and the Bolivian author Claudia Michel, winner of the Eduardo Abaroa Award in 2018 in the storybook section with “Cambio de rasante” and second place in the Franz Tamayo 2020 award. , thanks to his story “Five minutes received”.

The titles will be added to the collection of the new Mantis publishing house, in which “El invincible Verano de Liliana”, by Cristina Rivera Garza, and “Our Dead Skin”, by Ecuadorian Natalia García Freire, are already part of the shelf.

Mantis books are distributed by El Cuervo and can be found in Los Amigos del Libro, El Astillero and Atenea.
