Five months is the time between the release of Mario Golf: Super Rush and the end of post-launch monitoring of the game. Many players have been hoping the game will improve for many more months, but it looks like Nintendo decided otherwise for the golf game of its famous mascot.

Friendly without being exceptional, this Mario Golf : Super Rush will not remain in the annals and Nintendo seems to have understood it since after two substantial updates, it is already the end of the service for the game featuring the mustached plumber and all of his gang. With a fairly classic roster at the start, it was expanded for the first time last August thanks to the introduction of the character of Toadette, joined by Koopa Troopa and Ninji the following month. The same goes for the golf greens since the two previous free updates have made it possible to extend the courses on which players can compete: Thus, the New Donk City, Combe-aux-vents and Pikipalmes cards have brought a little novelty to a game that was struggling to renew itself and remain attractive.

Two for the price of one

To end in style this series of free updates intended to beautify Mario Golf : Super Rush, we note first of all the arrival of not a new character, but two as for the previous update. Thus, Wiggler and Maskass join the ranks of this opus and will wreak havoc in the different game modes with a single goal in mind: to finish first!

As with the characters, the new cards arrive in sets of two! This update therefore introduces the Cime-des-sages courses, with its 18 holes to be completed in three strokes maximum, and Summit of the stars which takes up the whole Mario universe as a theme with its blocks, its rooms and its typical clouds.

Mario Golf renews its game modes

However, to mark the end of the follow-up game properly, Nintendo has added two new game modes to the rollout of update 4.0.0: Target Golf and One-On, One-Putt. The first, playable solo or with others, asks you to aim at targets, from a fixed starting point and using five balls, and try to get as close as possible in order to win as many points as possible.

The second game mode, meanwhile, will offer you a good dose of challenge but only solo: the objective is to reach the green and the hole in two strokes maximum, i.e. a game mode that is aimed at more experts among you. Finally, note that this latest update includes some beneficial adjustments to the balance of the game, bug fixes and many other improvements to find in the patch note published by Nintendo!
