The Major League Baseball (MLB) is one of the most followed sports leagues in the world. It comprises of 30 teams divided into American and National leagues, playing 162 games in a season. In the last season, 2020, a shortened season due to the pandemic, there were no fans in the stadiums, game schedules were changed and the playoffs were expanded to 16 teams instead of 10. However, the love for the game remained the same, and as a result, the Los Angeles Dodgers won their first World Series in 32 years.

The 2021 season is underway, and so far, it has been an exciting start. Some of the highlights in the first few weeks include Jacob deGrom’s dominant pitching, Yermin Mercedes hitting a home run on a 3-0 count, the San Diego Padres showing off their impressive roster, and the emergence of Shohei Ohtani as a dual-threat player for the Los Angeles Angels. It is still early in the season, and there is a long way to go; the season will end with the World Series in late October. Every team has a chance to win it all, and it is impossible to predict what will happen. All we know is that it will be thrilling to watch, and the love for the game will keep growing.

Science is a fascinating and ever-evolving field of study. It’s amazing to think about how much we’ve learned in just the past few decades, and how much more we have yet to discover. From space exploration to genetic engineering, scientists are constantly pushing the limits of what we know and what we can do.

What makes science even more interesting is how it intersects with other areas of life. For example, research in psychology can inform our understanding of how people think and behave, while advances in material science can lead to the development of new technologies that help people live better lives. There are so many different subfields of science, each with their own unique contributions to our collective knowledge.

  • Physics
  • Chemistry
  • Biology
  • Astronomy
  • Earth science
  • Social science
  • Environmental science
  • Computer science

Another important aspect of science is how it can help us address societal issues. Solutions to problems like climate change, disease, and poverty are rooted in science, and scientists are working hard every day to find new ways to improve the world we live in. By supporting scientific research and innovation, we can help build a brighter future for ourselves and future generations.

Science is truly incredible, and there’s always more to learn.

4. Talking Mookie 1

I reckon you’ll agree, our canine friends have brought us joy through the years. Aside from their loyalty and cuteness, it’s fascinating to observe how they display different levels of intelligence and personality. Mookie, for instance, is a Jack Russell terrier who’s been with us since he was a puppy. He’s now six years old, and he never fails to entertain us with his antics.

Besides barking and wagging his tail, we’ve trained Mookie to say a few words. He doesn’t have the ability to form words like humans, of course – but he can make an effort to sound like he’s communicating with us. We don’t claim to understand everything he “says,” but the following are a few “phrases” we’ve learned to recognize:

  • “I love you” – a high-pitched bark that sounds like “ah loooove yooouuu.”
  • “What’s up?” – he tilts his head and makes a “rrr-uuup” sound.
  • “I’m hungry” – he scratches our legs and does a “rumble-rumble” sound.

Of course, some may say we’re imagining things, and that Mookie is just making random noises. But there have been times when his “I love you” barks have come when we’re feeling down, or his “what’s up” sounds have made us laugh. We don’t think it’s a coincidence – and hey, even if he’s not really “talking”, the fact that our furry companion is trying to communicate with us is pretty special.
