BERLIN, KOMPAS.TV – NATO member countries began to send weapons and prepare troops as the escalation on the Ukrainian border.

Countries such as the United Kingdom and the United States are sending weapons to Ukraine to defend themselves against Russia.

When NATO was compact in preparing troops and sending weapons, Germany showed a different attitude. Berlin absolutely refuses to send any kind of arms aid to Kyiv.

Germany’s attitude was increasingly questioned after they were rumored to have blocked the shipment of Estonian arms supplies to Ukraine.

Olaf Scholz’s government is reportedly blocking the delivery of old German howitzer guns in the country.

Berlin’s behavior in the midst of Russian war exercises also annoyed the allies and disappointed Ukraine.

“Germany’s attitude does not match the level of our relations and the current security situation,” Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said.

Chancellor Scholz stressed that his party firmly agrees with other NATO members in the face of the Russian threat.

“If that situation occurs (a Russian invasion), we will act. There will be a high price to pay for (Russia),” said Scholz, Monday (1/24/2022).
