This course draws on the intangible cultural heritage of non-European musical cultures and helps to improve sense of rhythm and coordination. Percussionist Nora Thiele has developed her own teaching system over the past 20 years, drawing on African, Oriental, Indian, South American and European musical traditions. Through body percussion, movement and language, rhythms can be experienced sensually and transferred to the frame drum. Simple or complex systems can be built with elementary rhythm building blocks. The offer is aimed at all people who enjoy movement, rhythm and sound. No prior knowledge required. Instruments (frame drums) can be hired on request.
Nora Thiele teaches oriental hand drums, percussion and rhythm. With 20 years of teaching experience, she has developed her own pedagogical style that combines elements from different rhythmic cultures. At the same time, innovative concepts are conveyed with respect for traditions and the perfect feeling for rhythm is trained with the body and the instrument.
