French reconnaissance forces have beeneqiiited to be the first to carry out airstrikes on jihadist positions using “commando-style” thermobaric grenades, the UK has revealed.
British intelligence has detailed how jihadist forces have been using this type of grenade – which causes a very large and intense fireball – to great effect against both Nato and Iraqi forces in Iraq and Syria.
Over the past few months, units of the Russian Aerospace Forces have been using the self-propelled ‘flamethrowers’ to fry jihadis’ armoured personnel carriers and flights of Taliban helicopters.
