Samsung apparently has no plans to launch another Galaxy Note; to end soon the production of the Galaxy Note 20 series –

In 2021, Samsung reportedly sold only 3.2 million Note 20 units.

Earlier this year, Samsung Co-CEO Koh Dong-jin had revealed the company’s plans not to launch any new Galaxy Note by 2021. During the brand’s annual shareholders meeting in Seoul, Koh had said it would be Difficult to launch a Note model in 2H due to ongoing chip shortages, but that Samsung could launch one next year, also known as 2022. A new report coming from South Korea apparently drops the ball on the future of the Note and, as many would have predicted, the end of the Note appears to be near. According to ETNews, Samsung may have discontinued the Note series forever ‘permanently’, meaning there may not be any new Note in the future.

Samsung Galaxy Note: the end of the road?

According to the report, Samsung will cease production of the Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra soon and has no plans to launch another Galaxy Note model. Samsung’s decision to end production of the Galaxy Note 20 is normal, considering the original launch window of the series. The Galaxy Note 20 series was launched more than a year ago.

While chip shortages could be a major factor, the Note’s gradually declining popularity, and in turn, sales figures, is another reason Samsung would be looking to disconnect the line.

Samsung: the future

Instead, that sales momentum has leaned towards the foldable Fold and Flip phones, especially with this year’s Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 models. The Fold 3 and Flip 3 are the most robust and ‘noteworthy’ folding phones Samsung has ever made, and the Fold is also S-Pen compatible. It’s no wonder more people are reaching out to them.

Samsung had long predicted that the Fold would be the future of the run-of-the-mill smartphone, and from the looks of it, it looks like it hit gold with that prediction. As for the Galaxy Note, Samsung has yet to make any formal announcements about its future. Multiple reports suggest that you may be looking to pair it with the S series, which is where the next phone in the line, the Galaxy S22, becomes critical. Ideally, that phone should launch in February 2022, so we’ll find out soon.
