Screenshots of Krafton’s new ‘Calisto Protocol’ released

Dead Space developer Glenn Scofield participated as a director, and the latest information on the new ‘Calisto Protocol’ from Striking Distance Studios (hereinafter referred to as SDS) has been released.

‘Calisto Protocol’ is a survival horror game set in the background of Black Iron Prison, a prison located on Jupiter’s moon Callisto in 2320. According to published information, the main character’s name is Jacob, and the player must escape from a prison boasting extremely secure facilities by controlling Jacob to avoid and sometimes defeat a mysterious monster biophage that seeks his life. In the process, the player comes face to face with the horrific truths about monsters and prisons.

The monsters that remind you of the necromorphs of the Dead Space series are called biophages, and as their name suggests, they are monsters that absorb humans and other organic matter. Against these biophages, Jacob must protect himself with his exoskeleton suit, while fighting back using a variety of weapons. According to publicly available information, Jacob’s weapons are diverse. He can use melee weapons as well as ranged weapons, as seen in the screenshots.

In addition, it has a similar ability to the Kinesis module used in the Dead Space series to clear or blow away objects that block the way, so it is possible to push or pull objects, so it is expected that there will be puzzle elements that utilize it.

SDS’ first game, Callisto Protocol, is scheduled to be released in the second half of 2022. It is scheduled to be released on PC and console, and as it has been confirmed as a cross-gen platform, it is expected to be released on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and XSX|S.
