An official source in the Egyptian Football Association confirmed that the notification related to preventing Zamalek from being registered for two periods had already received them since last June.
Hussein Labib, head of the committee in charge of running the Zamalek club, had stated earlier that Zamalek had been suspended by a decision of “FIFA” for two periods.
In his statements to Laila Koura, the source said, “Indeed, we received the notification from last June, and it was useful to prevent Zamalek from being registered.”
He continued, “Zamalek dealt with the crisis, and we learned that they had agreed with the Cameroonian side regarding scheduling the dues related to Hossam Ashraf’s fine.”
He stressed, “Indeed, Zamalek has paid part of those dues.”
He concluded, “With regard to the dues of the Football Association, we have contacted Zamalek officials in order to hold a session to resolve this crisis and agree on scheduling the dues.”
A source had previously stated, Laila Koura, that Zamalek is suffering from a crisis related to the registration of the first list, as there are dues exceeding 50 million pounds that must be paid to the Football Association.
