Changes in pensions. Under what conditions will retirement pensions be granted?
Work is underway to introduce changes to pensions. It is mainly about internship pensions, which would significantly affect the retirement age in Poland. The project was announced by Andrzej Duda, and he is supported by, inter alia, “Solidarity”. In an interview for “Wprost”, the president assured that work on the project was still in progress. What exactly would it be?
It will not be age that determines retirement, but length of service. Thus, the entitlement to the benefit would depend on the number of years worked:
- 35 years for women,
- 40 years for men.
Lower retirement age in Poland
Currently, in Poland, the minimum retirement age has been in force since 2017 – 65 for men and 60 for women. In practice, internship pensions would significantly affect the retirement age in Poland. For example, women who would start their career at the age of 20 could retire at the age of 55. In a similar case, men would be entitled to the benefit at the age of 60.
When will the internship pensions be available?
The introduction of internship pensions is delaying the coronavirus pandemic. Nevertheless, there is a chance that work on the project will begin soon.
For whom are internship pensions?
Importantly, the internship pensions will be optional. This type of solution will be available to willing people.
