This week, nine tracks from singer Drake’s new album made it to the Top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100. In 63 years of existence, no other artist has accomplished such a feat.
With “Way 2 Sexy” in the lead and eight other tracks from his album “Certified Lover Boy” in the Top 10, the song “Stay” (The Kid LAROI & Justin Bieber) is the only song that made its way to sixth place in this wave. Until then, no other artist had dominated the charts in this way, except the Beatles who had managed in 1964 to occupy the first five places of the Top 10 for a week.
After “God’s Plan”, “Nice for What”, “Toosie Slide” and “What’s Next”, “Way 2 Sexy” is the fifth single that Drake manages to place in first place of the chart upon its release. In all, nine of her titles have made it to the top of the Top 10, the first being “What’s My Name” in 2010, her collaboration with Rihanna.
Also with this album, his sixth released on September 3, the Canadian singer broke another record by recording 153 million plays in 24 hours on Spotify. He thus beats his own record held with “Scorpion” (2018) which had accumulated 132 million plays.
