Young people pelt the police in Katwijk: 6 arrests

The police have arrested six young people in the center of Katwijk. After the bars closed at midnight yesterday, one hundred to two hundred young people lingered in the catering area. They threw stones, beer bottles and cans, among other things, at officers who ordered them to go home.

That’s what the police report. One officer was hit, but not seriously injured. The six have been arrested for disobeying police orders and public violence.

One of the juveniles arrested was one minor.

25 police cars

The police intervened when the group failed to flee after repeated calls. A youth was bitten by a police dog.

According to Hart van Nederland, there were eventually 25 police cars on the spot. The police indicate that there was quite a lot on the leg.
