The program “Beautiful Girl” is attracting a large audience with well-invested performances. Besides sound and choreography, costumes also help artists shine.
Sharing with Tri Tri (Znews) about the process of preparing each outfit for the beautiful ladies, the show’s fashion director – Travis Nguyen – said: “When people watch the performance stage or the scene at the house, The practice room is only a part of the large number of costumes that appear. Because really, with each performance, the number of costumes increases.”
Unexpected incidents
Travis Nguyen once shared that he prepared 3,000 outfits for the program. However, now, this number has increased.
Normally, before each performance, Travis and his crew will have 3 days to prepare costumes. Besides, the concept can be changed. Therefore, before filming, he and his team members often feel pressured and worried. “The ultimate goal is to complete it well so that the beautiful ladies can shine,” Travis Nguyen shared.

The nearly half-year journey for a reality TV show requires the efforts of many people. Travis Nguyen said: “At times, my crew and I drew and edited up to 20 drawings. Next, we buy fabric to cut and stamp. After all these steps are completed, the beauty teams must change their concept. This part was quite difficult, but in the end, I and everyone completed the task well.”
Despite careful preparation at all stages, Travis Nguyen still cannot avoid unexpected incidents. One of the most worrying situations is when the costume is not finished in time for the rehearsal. At this time, many artists will feel scared. On the other hand, Travis Nguyen had to face a situation where his outfit was not according to the artist’s wishes. At this time, many beautiful women will not agree to wear them.
Situations that suddenly arise cause Travis to act urgently and try to do his best.
Sometimes, Travis Nguyen feels discouraged when faced with a large workload. He affirmed that taking on a big program will come with pressure.
“In addition to music and performance, the fashion part is also expected by viewers. If I do well in the listening part, the visual part must also be pleasing to the eye. That’s why I’m under pressure to prepare clothes for the ladies that are most suitable but still trendy and not too revealing to broadcast on national television,” he expressed.

Learn from the original
Travis Nguyen expressed feeling “euphoric” when watching the artists’ performances. At the same time, he was happy that the audience complimented the designs.
After the second performance, the purple-toned outfits of the “Sister Lie Em” team were praised. Floral patterns, hood details or fringes give a feminine, sexy look. Meanwhile, the team’s costumes performing a mashup of 2 songs: Magical Friendship and Puppy are popular because of their outstanding colors and youthful and modern shapes.
Travis Nguyen’s recognition is the result of a learning process. He shared that he had watched all the episodes of “Beautiful Girl” in the Chinese version. Through that, he learned the program’s format and learned to help the Vietnamese version of “Beautiful Sister Ride the Wind and Waves” to be the most complete.
Travis Nguyen highly appreciated the preparation of the costumes of the beautiful Chinese version. He emphasized: “Making a large number of costumes is extremely difficult.”

Describing the work of preparing costumes for the show, he pointed out: “Each person is different, there are 30 artists with their own way of expressing their personality. That’s why I have to be subtle and try to understand so I can please all 30 people.”
In addition to learning from the original, Travis Nguyen was able to complete it well thanks to his 12 years of experience as a stylist. “I have gone through many ups and downs to be able to stick with the profession. Every time like this, we are forced to improve and know how to turn pressure into motivation to achieve good results.”
The experience he accumulated during his career was enough for him to face difficulties when taking on the role of Fashion Director of the program Beautiful Sister.
