Designed by X+Living – an architectural firm based in Shanghai – the toilet on the 6th floor of the Deji Plaza shopping center in Nanjing City, China makes visitors feel like they accidentally Step into a lavish, splendid palace. Entrance to the restroom is on the 6th floor of the Deji Plaza shopping center.
The center’s restroom opens to welcome visitors from a long hallway with rows of green trees reaching out from the windows on both sides, giving the feeling of stepping into a fresh garden. Along with that, this location also impresses with its main green color tone and dozens of giant lights shining down from above, causing light to reflect on the glossy floor.
The design details inside the toilet make visitors feel like they are lost in a fairy garden.
At the end of the hallway is a classy service area with sofas inspired by flower petals. Travelers who do not need to use the restroom can wait for their friends. Men’s and women’s amenities feature custom décor.
Notably, the fountain-inspired usage area is placed at different heights so that it is accessible to both children and adults.
“Toilets in shopping malls are public spaces for everyone. It suits people in busy urban lives and provides them with space to rest or put on makeup,” said designer Li Xiang.
Amenities are available in the restrooms at Deji Plaza shopping center.
During the construction of the central area, Li Xiang paid more attention to the design of the bathroom, to reflect customer care in even the most difficult to surprise areas.
According to the designer, there are many notable highlights in this restroom area, from abstract geometry and shapes inspired by flowers and insects to luxurious vanity chairs and lots of strip lights.
