Previously, the Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention Department of Thai Nguyen Provincial Police received a report from a citizen named DKL about Le Nguyen Giap’s fraudulent behavior.
Specifically, in May-June, Mr. DKL participated in investing virtual currency online and was scammed, so he joined several groups on social networks to find a way to get his money back. Grasping the victim’s psychology, Giap proactively texted and said he had also been scammed. Giap introduced himself as knowing an officer working at the Ministry of Public Security who could help recover the defrauded money.

To carry out the act, Giap sent his phone number, pretended to be a police officer and talked to Mr. DKL.
Because he trusted Giap, Mr. DKL transferred money to Giap 3 times, with a total amount of 100 million, to receive the report and investigate to recover the defrauded money. Mr. DKL’s money was appropriated by Giap.
Using professional measures, the police determined that Le Nguyen Giap was a fraudster.
