Tottenham Hotspur coach Nuno Espirito Santo was pleased with his team’s performance during the first half of their 3-0 defeat by Chelsea in the Premier League last night, but the Portuguese coach admitted that his team needed to solve some of the problems they are currently facing.
Tottenham made a strong performance in the first half, but could not withstand the Chelsea uprising in the second half of the match, scoring three goals through Thiago Silva, N’Golo Kante and Antonio Rudiger to share the lead in the tournament.
“We did really well, we played really well and we pressed hard, so we know we need to improve in a lot of areas,” Nuno told reporters after the match. We have to build on what we did in the first half.
Tottenham won the first three rounds of the current Premier League season and advanced to the top of the list, but lost 3-0 twice in a row and fell to seventh place.
Next Wednesday, Tottenham will meet Wolverhampton Wanderers in the League Cup, before facing London’s neighbor Arsenal in the league next Sunday at the latter’s stadium.
Nuno also said: We need more time to work together. We have to solve a lot of problems and we have to look for solutions, but I am very optimistic and positive that we will succeed in that.
