A comparative study carried out in Hungary between five vaccines against Covid-19 revealed this Thursday that the Russian Sputnik-V is the most effective against the coronavirus.
The report took into account the Sputnik V, Moderna, Pfizer-BioNTech, Sinopharm and AstraZeneca vaccines, and specified that the Russian vaccine is 98 percent effective against mortality, and 85.7 percent effective against contagion.
Similarly, the analysis showed that Sputnik V is 100 percent effective against deaths associated with Covid-19 in people between 16 and 44 years of age.
For the process, the scientific journal Clinical Microbiology and Infection processed real data on vaccination with the five drugs mentioned in almost 4 million people in Hungary, between January 22 and June 10.
Hungary was the first nation belonging to the European Union (EU) to authorize the use of the Sputnik-V vaccine to combat the effects of the pandemic.
Sputnik V was the world’s first registered vaccine against Covid-19 and, to date, it has been approved in more than 70 countries with a total population of over 4 billion people.
