A unique visitor is a distinct identity. The definition of "distinct" depends on the tool: GA4 uses a cookie-based User ID that persists across sessions until the cookie is cleared. Cookieless tools like BYOViral use a server-side fingerprint hash that distinguishes visitors within a 30-minute session window but treats the same person tomorrow as a new visitor.
