Why teams move off cookie-based analytics
Cookie banners interrupt every visitor before they read your content. How BYOViral measures without cookies
A 700-byte tracker script POSTs each pageview to BYOViral with the referrer, page URL, screen size and user-agent. The server derives a session fingerprint (hash of IP + user-agent + per-site salt) and counts the visit. No cookies, no localStorage, no fingerprinting library, no third-party calls.

Is BYOViral really 100% cookieless?
Yes. The tracker script sets nothing in the visitor's browser. Sessions are inferred server-side from a one-way HMAC fingerprint that is never reversible back to the visitor.
Do I need a cookie banner to use BYOViral?
In most jurisdictions, no. BYOViral does not store identifiers in the visitor browser, which is the trigger that most consent frameworks (GDPR, PECR) react to. Always confirm specifics with your own counsel.
How does cookieless analytics compare to Plausible or Fathom?

Does cookieless mean less accurate?
